Royal Doulton Seriesware Blue Children Antique Vase
Royal Doulton Seriesware Blue Children Antique Vase
Beautiful antique condition oval shape vase featuring gold ombre detailing on the lip, delicate brush stroke style leisure scene in blue and gold band at the base.
These ethereal blue and white pieces were designed by Charles Noke, creative director for Royal Doulton at the turn of the century. The series depict people in leisurely pursuits: this vase features a child in the meadow reaching into a woman's basket. The Blue Children patterns were first introduced in the 1890, were expanded in 1915 and all discontinued by 1930. Although mostly printed, the scenes had additional details painted by hand.
Bottom is green stamped Royal Doulton England.
The lip has been damaged but well repaired, you can see its entirety in the pictures. Otherwise, there are no chips, cracks or crazing on the rest of the vase.
